The Shakespeare Workshop
Introduction
The
Shakespeare Workshop was founded in 1989 by Tony Butler. If you have
attended before you will know that Tony’s workshops are great fun, and
we look forward to seeing you again.
If
you are new to the Shakespeare Workshop then you should know that
workshops (which might take place over a day, a weekend or a few days) are
usually limited to 15 participants, centred on a particular play and
involves attendance at a performance of the play. During the workshop
participants, led by Tony, read from the play, discuss different
interpretations of key speeches and reflect on recurring themes. We always
choose to centre the workshops on performances likely to be memorable and
we buy the best seats in the house. Our lunches (and, where applicable,
suppers) are delicious and wine-fuelled, and the conversation is
sparkling. Do come and join us!
